EnCours was founded in June 2008 by two directors who between them have many years' experience in both training and line management:

Michael Shea
A member of senior management in multinational financial services companies, before branching out to run a training and business development consultancy.

Learning and Development Background:

  • Five years with the Paper and Paper Products Industry Training Board, specialising in management development.
  • Regional Training Adviser for Crown Financial Management,.
  • Head of Consultant Development at Manulife Financial,
  • Director of and trainer on courses for Thames Valley University on commercial and governmental topics for their Nigerian clients.
  • Business Coach


Sales Experience:

  • Financial services as an adviser, sales manager, and branch manager.
  • Point of Sale IT:
  • Directed and managed the design and implementation of a radical new Point of Sale system to a sceptical sales force of a multinational financial services company. Developed the system into a CRM application within the constraints of legacy mainframe systems.


Peter Nicholson
Peter is a qualified teacher who has worked in the UK and the USA. In addition he has experience in sales and learning and development.

Learning and Development Background

  • Successfully established First Accord Consulting Limited in 2003 successfully delivering projects in Banking, Financial Services, Telecommunications, Not for Profit Sectors. This follows many years experience in large organisations' learning and development teams.


Sales Experience

In the financial services industry as an adviser and area manager in both direct sales and the IFA markets. Latterly with Canada Life as a Senior Business Development Manager

They do not simply talk theory; they can speak from their own practical business experience.

Our team has a broad base of experience encompassing; broker sales in financial services, consultant training, specialist training in Point of Sale usage and telesales for major financial services companies, Total Quality Management, Project Management, HR management and practice, competency framework design, interview skills, NLP Stress management, Leading Change, Managing Changes and much, much more beside.

Our consultants have experience in working with all levels of staff from new employees up to director level. They have experience in both the public and private sectors here in the UK and abroad.
